Mexico City is huge and cosmopolitan. It is so huge in fact that in terms of population, it could become a country on its own. It is complex and vast and yes, overwhelming.

The majority of my clients are top executives who are sent on frequent business trips and want to take advantage of that weekend in the middle of meetings or a few extra days they can take off at the end.

In the last post about the enchanting ancient city of Pompeii we saw part 1 of this guest post by the guys over at Through Eternity Tours which gave us a taste of what this incredible site is about.

But oh, there is so much more to see and learn about because Pompeii is the most important, but not the only site near Naples that was affected by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius on that fateful August of 79 AD.

The amazing frescoes in the well-to-do houses prove to us that art and architecture were very much developed in Italy long before the renaissance.

The remaining ruined buildings provide a sense of the people who lived there, from whom we inherit so much of our own culture.

If you’ve followed me for some time, you know that I am fascinated by ancient cultures, especially Rome. And Pompeii is one of the best places to learn about it.

The city that was buried by Mount Vesuvius at the same time preserving it for posterity, for us to be able to study it and to see how ancient Romans live and how much we have in common.
