What do you think about when you hear the word Brazil?
Hot sexy cinnamon colored skin women on a beach background, dance, music, joy of life, vast natural life, the jungle, a huge thriving country with abundant resources, right?
I’ve visited Brazil many times and there’s one thing I find myself craving for… it’s almost painful… I ache for it…
Salamanca is an old city in Spain, known for its beautiful buildings and its universities.
It was founded in pre-Roman times (we’re talking BC here) by Celtic tribes and since then it has been an important commercial and academic hub.
Nowadays the city enjoys its status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site awarded in 1988 bringing a lot of tourism and its relaxed ambiance due to the thousands of students who attend its universities.
Salamanca has many hidden gems, but I will concentrate on the mysterious carvings in two of its most renowned buildings.

All the people were standing on the shore of the lagoon, Guatavita, for the ritual they were about to perform.
A raft made of branches and plants had been adorned with torches and a heap of gold and emeralds had been placed on its center.
Who wouldn’t want to go to Paris? Or New York? Two destinations that come to mind when thinking about where to go. The City of Lights? Or the City that Never Sleeps?
But what if there was more? Other interesting places? How about a trip off the beaten path, through the backdoor?
A few years ago when I started planning and researching my trips, I was looking for podcasts about travel in iTunes, I stumbled upon a podcast called “Travel with Rick Steves”.
And it turned out that Rick was into the kind of cultural travel I like!

Just wanted to make a very short post to bring some attention to the fact that to me, travel would not be the same without my iPod, which of course, is one of Steve’s most revolutionary products.
I got my first iPod in 2006 but have been using iTunes since it came out. My first iPod was a 60GB iPod video and it came with me to my trips, I got tons of free audio guides, podcasts and iTunesU content to listen to while on travel!
