Last time we covered the first five of the best archeological sites in Rome, including the Ara Pacis monument, the Domus Aurea of Nero, the Vatican Necropolis, the Castel Sant’Angelo and the Forum Boarium.
Today we finish our countdown with some jaw-dropping, eye popping sights. To step on the very earth that ancient Emperors stepped on and to walk the paths of (maybe) our ancestors, today is just fascinating!
So much comes to mind when I think about the Eternal City and archaeological sites in Rome is one of the first and most important ones as with any cultural travel.
Has it ever happened to you that you visit a place for the first time and you fall completely in love with it?
That was exactly my experience in Rome. Art, architecture, history, archaeology, anthropology, culture, beauty… they all describe Rome and they are the best in cultural travel.
Unless you have been living under a rock, you’ve recently heard about The Diamond Jubilee. It’s got something to do with the United Kingdom, right?
So I thought I’d look a bit more into it and learn about this celebration, and we all know that the English are not skimpy when it comes to celebrate big.

Back in 2003 I was looking for information about traveling to Egypt and I stumbled upon an intriguing website that announced the winners of the contest for the design of the new Grand Egyptian Museum.
Well, I had no idea there were plans to build a new museum in Cairo! Didn’t they have a gorgeous pink Victorian building as the home of the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities?
I’ve spoken before about ancient civilizations, but Lascaux is even older than what we might call “ancient”.
I am always fascinated by the past, but viewed in the right context what seems old is not that old at all.
Here’s a place where we can get in touch with our earliest ancestors (or at least get an idea, more on that later) and try to get a feel of what the world was for them, how they saw it and how they lived in it.
Imagine a group of people gathered around a sacred place, painting subjects that were important for them, to the light of a torch or a small ceramic lamp with so much care.
