When you hear the word “Cambodia”, what comes to your mind? I used to draw a blank or in the best of cases I thought it was a far east land, of oriental-looking people who… probably had a lot of wars?

The trip has been wonderful, you’ve had the experience of a lifetime, made new friends, seen unusual landscapes and learned so much history you feel you could almost teach it at college.

Ever since I was in college and took art history lessons, I’ve wanted to visit Barcelona.
I fell in love with Gaudi’s architecture from the first time I saw those slides in class, with his intricate, unusual and almost unreal forms derived from nature and from his deep devotion to catholicism.
Barcelona is a gorgeous city and there are tons to see and do, but if I didn’t see anything else, I’d definitely have to see Gaudi’s work. Except they didn’t tell me about his hidden jewel, one of his obscure and most beautiful works.
What’s the first thing you think to do when you want to visit another country or go on vacation? Why, consult with some travel agencies, right?
I have been traveling since the year 2000 and unfortunately I cannot say that they have been any help and here’s why:
The Chateau of Versailles is a magnificent palace and estate that was the home of the kings of France from 1662 (Louis XIV) to 1789 (Louis XVI).
And it is one of the most magnificent examples of royal residence from the 15th and 16th century a visitor can see.
When you come to think about the importance of this place as one of the settings of the French Revolution and how much what it represented to the French people of then (and now) affected the world we live in today, seeing it for yourself is a must when in France.
But let’s not waste the experience by not preparing carefully. Here’s how.
